Yugoslavia stamps year 1992 – Columbus Discovery of America stamp
The Yugoslavia stamps issued in 1992 for the “Columbus Discovery of America” theme are part of the annual EUROPA CEPT program.
The theme for all CEPT member nations that year was the 500th Anniversary of the Discovery of America (1492–1992).
The Yugoslavian issue consists of a set of stamps, and in this case, a commemorative miniature sheet (souvenir sheet) was also released:
- The Set of Stamps:
- Number of Stamps: 2
- Theme: Columbus and his ships (Niña, Pinta, and Santa María).
- Scott Catalog #: #2154–2155 (for the set of two)
- The Miniature Sheet (Souvenir Sheet):
- Yugoslavia also issued a miniature sheet (souvenir sheet) on the same theme, often sought after by collectors.
- The sheet contains one or more stamps and is typically cataloged separately.
- Scott Catalog #: #2156 (for the miniature sheet)
Important Note on 1992 Yugoslavia: This issue was released in a time of significant political upheaval, just after the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) was proclaimed. The stamps reflect the continuation of the postal program under this new entity. Due to the ongoing conflict, many stamps from this era were primarily sold to collectors, and used copies
