SHS 1920 Court document with Chain breakers / Slovenia and Croatian stamps

The first postage stamps of SHS Slovenia (Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes) were issued in 1919, after the formation of the new state on December 1, 1918. These stamps were part of the definitive issue known as the “Verigar” series. The Verigar stamps were printed in Ljubljana by Tiskarna Blaznikovi nasledniki and included denominations of 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40, 45, 50, 60, 80 and 90 vinar. The 15 and 20 vinar stamps were printed using lithography. The 20 vinar stamp was printed three times in 1919 with a total circulation of 5,915,100 stamps. The print sheets had different layouts:
• 100 stamps in 10 x 10 format with passer lines
• 300 stamps consisting of 2 sheets of 50 (5 x 10) and 2 sheets of 100 (10 x 10), also with passer lines
• 200 stamps with 2 sheets of 100 (10 x 10)
The print plates were produced by multiplying a strip of 10 forms, each with a different layout of sun rays. In the 100-stamp sheets, the types were uniformly distributed in columns, while in the 50-stamp sheets the distribution was non-uniform.The 15 vinar stamp was printed in panes of 100 (10 x 10), 50 (5 x 10) and 30 (3 x 10) stamps. These early SHS Slovenia stamps are an important part of the postal history of Yugoslavia, marking the transition from the constituent territories to the unified Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes.
