The Republic of Macedonia (now North Macedonia) issued a commemorative stamp in 2012 to celebrate the 1150th Anniversary of the Missions of Saints Cyril and Methodius to the Slavic lands.

This issue honors the two Byzantine Greek brothers who are considered the Apostles to the Slavs for creating the first Slavic alphabet, Glagolitic, which led to the development of Cyrillic.
