Reiser’s Alpine Newt (Triturus alpestris reiseri): An endemic amphibian subspecies unique to Prokoško Lake, discovered in 1891 by ornithologist Othmar Reiser. It is larger than standard alpine newts, reaching up to 12 cm in length.
Prokoško Lake (Prokoško jezero): A glacial lake situated on Vranica Mountain in central Bosnia at an elevation of 1,636 meters, designated as a Natural Monument in 2005.
