African stamps year 1970-80 Martin Luther King set

Several African countries have issued stamps honoring Martin Luther King Jr.

• Guinea issued a souvenir sheet in 2015 featuring Martin Luther King Jr. along with other notable figures such as Malcolm X, Barack Obama, and the Washington Monument.
• Mozambique released a 2015 souvenir sheet showcasing Nobel Prize winners including Martin Luther King Jr.
• Togo issued a 2014 souvenir sheet with MLK in an oratorical pose, alongside an Alfred Nobel medallion.
• Senegal issued stamps in 1978 featuring Martin Luther King Jr. and Mahatma Gandhi under the theme “Apostles of Non-Violence.”
• Congo (Brazzaville) released a stamp in 1968 showing MLK Jr. with a map of West Africa and the caption highlighting human fraternity and solidarity.
• Ghana issued a vertical stamp in 1968 commemorating the Human Rights Year with MLK’s portrait and national symbolism.
• Liberia also released stamps in 1968 featuring MLK Jr.’s coffin procession and his head portrait, bearing the caption “Free at last.”
