Stamp Issue Details

  • Release Date: March 24, 1992.
  • Contents:
    • A set of five stamps featuring explorers and historical themes.
    • A souvenir sheet displaying a nautical chart by Battista Agnese and a portrait of Christopher Columbus.
  • Printing & Design: Produced by Courvoisier, using photogravure on plain paper with water-activated gum. Each stamp was comb-perforated at 11¼–11¾; the souvenir sheet measured approximately 138 × 95 mm.
  • Print Run: Approximately 450,000 complete sets and 450,000 souvenir sheets.
