Slovenia year 2010 Flora – Flowers stamp set MNH
Slovenia issued two distinct stamp sets under the “Flora” theme in 2010, both focusing on flowers:
1. Flora V – Carnations (Dianthus)
This was a set of four stamps that continued the established “Flora” series, featuring various species of the Carnation or Pink (Dianthus) flower native to Slovenia.
The four species featured were:
- $0.26 €$: Dianthus sanguineus (Blood-red Pink)
- $0.30 €$: Dianthus sternbergii (Sternberg’s Pink)
- $0.40 €$: Dianthus deltoides (Maiden Pink)
- $0.92 €$: Dianthus carthusianorum (Carthusian Pink) – Also issued in a miniature sheet.
2. Flora VI – Peonies (Paeonia)
This was a second, separate flower issue for the year, focusing on peonies, and was issued in a Miniature Sheet containing two stamps.
The two species featured were:
- $0.45 €$: Paeonia officinalis (Common Peony)
- $0.92 €$: Paeonia rockii (Rock’s Peony – though this is not native to Slovenia, it was featured alongside a native species).
The common release date for both sets was March 26, 2010.
