Serbia has a rich aviation history and has been involved in aircraft manufacturing, as well as operating various types of airplanes. Here are some notable examples of Serbian aviation and aircraft:
- Soko Aircraft: Soko, short for “Fabrika aviona Soko” (Aircraft Factory Soko), was a Yugoslav aircraft manufacturer based in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, which later became part of Serbia after the dissolution of Yugoslavia. Soko produced a range of military aircraft, including the J-21 Jastreb ground-attack aircraft, the G-2 Galeb advanced jet trainer, and the J-22 Orao multi-role combat aircraft.
- Utva Aircraft: Utva Aviation Industry, based in Pančevo, Serbia, is another aircraft manufacturer with a history of producing various aircraft types. Notable aircraft produced by Utva include the Utva 66 light utility aircraft, the Utva 75 trainer aircraft, and the Utva 213 Vihor advanced trainer and light attack aircraft.
- Soko G-4 Super Galeb: The Soko G-4 Super Galeb (Super Seagull) is a single-engine advanced jet trainer and light attack aircraft developed by Soko for the Yugoslav Air Force. It entered service in the 1980s and was later used by the Serbian Air Force after the breakup of Yugoslavia.
- Soko J-22 Orao: The Soko J-22 Orao (Eagle) is a twin-engine, subsonic, ground-attack and reconnaissance aircraft developed jointly by Yugoslavia and Romania. It was produced by Soko in Yugoslavia and used by the Yugoslav Air Force and later by the Serbian Air Force.
- Lasta 95: The Lasta 95 is a primary and basic trainer aircraft developed by Utva Aviation Industry for the Serbian Air Force. It is a modern turboprop aircraft designed for training military pilots.
