Serbia postage stamps year 2009 Fauna Birds Joint issue with Bulgaria MNH set
The Serbia postage stamps issued in 2009 as a joint issue with Bulgaria, featuring “Fauna Birds,” were dedicated to Balkan area birds (or “Birds in the Balkans”).
This philatelic release by the Post of Serbia (“Pošta Srbije”) was a twin issue featuring two identical-sized stamps that depicted the following bird species:
- Eurasian Woodcock (Scolopax rusticola)
- Rufous-tailed Rock Thrush (Monticola saxatilis)
The theme of the issue was often referred to as “Nature conservation: Balkan area birds” or “Ecology: Balkan Mountains” (in Bulgaria’s context, as the themes were related but sometimes titled slightly differently by each country).
The joint issue typically included a set of stamps (often two designs) from each country, along with a First Day Cover (FDC).
