Faroe Islands year 1990 stamps Ships MNH
The main set featuring ships and boats in 1990 was a miniature sheet issued to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Official Recognition of the Faroese Flag (Merkið).
Since the flag’s history is closely tied to its use on ships during WWII, the stamps prominently feature vessels flying the flag.

The set is a strong thematic item for collectors of both Ships and Flags.
There was also a set issued earlier that year that touches upon the maritime economy:
- Faroe Islands 1990: Faroese Fishing Industry (Issued Feb 5, 1990, Scott #188-191). While this set focuses on processing and unloading, the images are related to the vessels and the industry.
