Dubai year 1964 Olympic games Tokyo stamps set MNH
In 1964, Dubai—then a Trucial State—released a notable series of stamps to commemorate the XVIII Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo. This set is a classic example of the era’s philatelic style, featuring bold colors and various athletic disciplines.

Variations & Souvenir Sheets
- Imperforate Set: Like many Dubai issues from this period, the entire 10-stamp set exists in an imperforate version (smooth edges). These were produced in smaller quantities and are highly sought after by Olympic topical collectors.
- Souvenir Sheet: A large souvenir sheet was issued (Michel Block 27), which typically contains the 5-Rupee Swimming stamp or a combination of the higher values.
- Winter Olympics Overprints: You may also find a 5-stamp set from earlier in 1964 that was overprinted “Innsbruck 1964” for the Winter Games.
