Colombia postage stamps year 1950 Anniversary of UPU MSS MNH
In 1950, Colombia commemorated the 75th anniversary of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) with a series of postage stamps and a souvenir sheet. These issues highlighted the nation’s rich heritage and celebrated the global postal organization’s milestone.
Alongside the stamp series, Colombia issued an imperforate souvenir sheet measuring 90 x 90 mm. It features a 50 centavos stamp portraying a globe, symbolizing international postal unity. The sheet is inscribed with “REPÚBLICA DE COLOMBIA,” “CORREOS AEREO,” and “U.P.U. 1874-1949.” Printed in yellowish-orange, it had a limited release of 100,000 copies. This souvenir sheet is listed as Scott number 580.
