The Bridge on the Drina (or “Na Drini Ćuprija” in Serbian) is a historical novel written by Nobel laureate Ivo Andrić. It was published in 1945 and remains one of Andrić’s most famous works. The novel revolves around the Mehmed Paša Sokolović Bridge, a real structure located in Višegrad, Bosnia and Herzegovina, which spans the Drina River.
