The Orient Express is deeply tied to Serbian history as Belgrade was a primary stop on the legendary route from Paris to Constantinople (Istanbul).

Identifying the Stamp

Look for the text “125 ГOДИНA OРИJEHT EKCПРECA” (125 Years of Orient Express) in Cyrillic, along with the years 1883–2008.

Note: Do not confuse this with the 2008 Orient Express issue from Republika Srpska (Bosnia Serbian Admin). While they both celebrated the same anniversary in the same year, the Serbian (Belgrade) issue has different artwork and values (20/46 DIN) compared to the Bosnian Serb issue.
