In 2009, São Tomé and Príncipe issued a set of postage stamps commemorating the 200th anniversary of the birth of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, the renowned music composer. The set includes four stamps and often comes with a souvenir sheet. These stamps feature images related to Mendelssohn’s life and music and are catalogued under numbers 3865-68.
The stamps were issued on March 31, 2009, and are available in mint never hinged (MNH) condition for collectors. The series celebrates Mendelssohn’s significant contribution to classical music and marks his bicentennial birth year.
