German stamps sports aid committee year 1985 Horse riding and swimming
In 1985, the German Sports Aid Committee (Deutsche Sporthilfe) was honored with a set of postage stamps issued by Deutsche Bundespost (West Germany) under the “Für den Sport” (For Sports) series. Among the stamps in this collection, two were dedicated to horse riding (equestrian sports) and swimming:
- Horse Riding (Equestrian) Stamp – A 90+45 Pfennig stamp featuring an artistic depiction of a show jumping rider and horse in action.
- Swimming Stamp – A 120+60 Pfennig stamp showcasing a swimmer in motion, emphasizing the sport’s dynamism.
These stamps included a surcharge that supported German athletes through the Deutsche Sporthilfe foundation.
