Serbia postage stamps year 2014 Easter Frescos Religion MNH set

In 2014, Serbia Post issued a set of Easter stamps featuring religious frescoes. The collection includes two stamps:

• 22 RSD stamp: Depicts the “Last Supper” fresco.
• 46 RSD stamp: Features the “Entombment of Christ” fresco.

Both frescoes are works by Pavle Simić, created between 1866 and 1867, and are housed in the Church of the Transfer of Relics of St. Father Nicholas. The accompanying envelope showcases the “Students’ Cross,” another of Simić’s creations from the same church.

These stamps were released on February 17, 2014, with print runs of 215,000 for the 22 RSD stamp and 100,000 for the 46 RSD stamp.

These stamps not only celebrate the religious significance of Easter but also highlight Serbia’s rich artistic heritage.
