DDR Germany Stamps year 1966 – Art from Babylon – MNH complete set
That is a beautiful and historically significant set of stamps! The 1966 DDR “Art from Babylon” series features stunning details from the famous Ishtar Gate and the Processional Way in Babylon, artifacts which are largely housed in the Pergamon Museum in Berlin.
The complete set consists of four stamps, all printed with colorful details of the tiled reliefs.
🏛️ The 1966 Art from Babylon Set
These stamps (Michel Nos. 1229–1232) were issued on November 23, 1966, and depict four different details from the wall decorations created under King Nebuchadnezzar II around 580 BC.
