Romania 1973 Europa European Union Maps MNH stamps
Romania, as a member of the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT), participated in the annual Europa issue. The year 1973 was significant because it was the last year that CEPT countries used a common design before switching to common themes in 1974.
🇷🇴 Romania 1973 Europa CEPT Set
The common design for all participating countries in 1973 was a Stylized Post Horn with three arrows, designed by the Norwegian artist Leif Frimann Anisdahl. The three arrows were said to represent CEPT’s primary objectives: Posts, Telegraphs, and Telephone services.
Romania issued two stamps using this common design:
| Denomination | Colour | Catalogue Number (Michel/Scott) | Design |
| 55 Bani | Multicolored | Michel 3165 / Scott 2416 | Stylized Post Horn/CEPT Emblem |
| 2 Lei | Multicolored | Michel 3166 / Scott 2417 | Stylized Post Horn/CEPT Emblem |
- Issue Date: The stamps were released in 1973.
- Significance: These stamps are highly collected as they represent the end of an era (the common design period) for the very popular Europa CEPT series.
